Artist statement:
I am creating an animated short film about a mother (Martha)
telling her daughter (Ezaru) how she met her father (Nova). In this concept art
for my short film I have designed the appearance of the characters Martha and
Ezaru, as well as the home they live in known as Dragons-Ledge.
The character designs of Martha and Ezaru are shown in more
detail then the young version of Martha and Nova, I decided on this because the
story of how the two young dragons met, will have a dream or misty like flow to
it, separating it from the outside story where Martha and her daughter Ezaru
sit, This though, will be in 3D during the short film while the tale of the two
young dragons, shall remain 2D.
The home design is loosely based of a Victorian era home
meshed with my world and how they would fit to a dragon, the home is designed
to look welcoming and cosy yet big enough for a family. The home gives out a
warm glow in contrast to the rest of the mountain side the home has been dug
into.
