Screen Arts: The Orator

The Orator

To the point, I didn't like the film, this is not to say this is a bad film,
I do like how it shows us Samoan culture, however this type of story,
these types of stories I have little interest in


The culture itself I found interesting, how they show Samoa and how they live,
(always find that intriguing, how different people and cultures live)

Pros:
The cinematography was fantastic, there are a lot of shots in the film I liked very much
I love how they show Samoan culture within the film, it is in no, from what I can tell, disrespectful to their culture and way of life


Cons:
I found it hard to pick up on the story
to me I find it hard to have interest

The story itself is a slow burn which is the main reason I found it hard to like, I have trouble concentrating and latching on to things that move too slowly, on top of that I found it hard to figure out the characters, who they were, what they want, and what their relationships were.
It took me quite a while to figure out the main characters job, in which he shortly lost it after I found out.
