ScreenArts: BreakDown and Animation

Break Down and Animation

Layer breakdown:

Animation:

The 2D scenes are animated in after effects using pins, and pulling them around, I have discovered through this that animating a pin on a compilation will mess up the image and that I either need to pin the image directly, or if I am right, put the pins onto a null layer.

ScreenArts: Round Three; Clean Up

Screen Arts Experiments: Part/Round Three

What was left to do was clean up the silhouettes, but I didn't like that It was hard to make out the shapes of the characters, as they were not drawn with them being silhouettes in mind, adding to that I want them to be able to move, and the audience be able to see moving parts, soooo

I added different done so that certain parts are able to  be told apart without creating an abundance of detail, I only created separate parts based on what I needed to move with as the wings and ears, though this doesn't account for the different colours like the horns, which are separate for aesthetic and design reasons (for detail, I still wanted the horns in)

Then all I needed to do was plaster the paper texture over on top and put it on Overlay

Screen Arts: Experiments Two

 Screen Arts: Experiments, round Two

This round I was looking on how to either make it more simple or dream like, In the second picture I faded the edged to create a foggy or misty atmosphere that makes it feel more distant, however this didn't end up looking that good, even without the linework,  speaking of,

Having the character drawn out in linework seem to be a bit detailed and adding to that I think by not having facial features will help keep the distance, I want the characters to tell a story but not connect too heavily to the characters as I want that to happen in the 3D world.

I did like having lack of linework though in this it is a bit patchy, it keeps it very simple which I am aiming for, and with the paper texture will as I want, look like paper cut outs..

I had already done these experiments on the greyscale version before deciding that the coloured was better the the monochrome

Animation Project: ANIMATION START

Animating has finally started, I personally don't like what I am creating but apparently its okay, I have listed the 3D scenes and categorized them for each section and beginning middle and end.
and then rufly categorized those in what happens in them

When I started animating I did come across a small problem of Martha not appearing in the playback of the timeline but found out that it was a issue of the Layer the mesh was on not being active for the playback (the P on the layers need to be on to show in the playback)

Renders from animating the scenes:
They are not perfect but I just need to pass.

Screen Arts: Knifes Out

 Knifes Out:

About:

This film is about the murder/suicide of an old famous author, a detective and a few cops run an investigation on the family and staff, the film was released in 2019

Thoughts:

So before this I have never heard of this movie and knew nothing about it though the pointers that got me intrigued were the words, knifes and crime, I'm always down for a good crime film.

Loving the interviewer way of getting through the plot, all the twists and throwing theroys around while trying to figure things out, its an interesting way of learning about characters.

Okie finnished the film and I absolutly loved it, loved the main character, too, all the twists are so great. Best bit was the end scene of the knife being fake, though how the last scheme of getting the  grandson to confess,

Screen Arts: Experiments

 Screen Arts Project:

Experiments:

Round One:
I want the second style of the pockets story to be very simplistic, so no fancy shading like in the concept art I did for exhibition one.

I do like the Monochromatic one on top however, I think It might clash with what I am creating in the 3D world which will be a warm and soft colour, while I intend the story to turn somewhat dark in the flashback in which I could add subtle hints of colour such as red, I believe having it fleshed out with a basic colour much nicer, however what I have here is a bit flat.

I added the paper texture, that I wanted to use from the beginning onto both of the experiments, while the monochromatic version now looks like an aged photo I still think that the tones will clash with the main 3D story compared to the one with soft colours.

Animation Project: Moosic

Putting the music in (and getting it over with so I can start animating T_T,

then its non-stop animating til I drop dead

Animation Project: Post being sick and a week of sleeping

I have Implemented the dragons into the scene, I didn't get much done but now that the dragons are in the scene I can start animating. I will focus on the 3D animation and as for the 2D, for now I am going to just put the images In and have some sort of moving effect op top, but that is if I run out of time to animate the 2D this way, they're will still be something there, as I can't do this with the 3D.

Animation Project: WEIGHT PAINGINT

HNNNNN Weight painting is frustrating, I don't think I will get it perfect and the mesh will still be broken in places due to multiple issues, some of them being not enough time, little practice and experience, and also I believe some parts may not have enough bones in the rigg such as the ear

adding to this, its my first time modeling a dragon and rigging it so it will be coated in mistakes,

Reflection: Outcome:  Overall I am okaish with the outcome, the project ended with a lovely style that ended up meshing well with the 3D an...
