in and flops down in the doorway crying.

hears a sound coming from outside and opens the door, she sees her daughter in
clear distress

I screwed up, I

Martha Vermelho
The
human?
She
nuzzles her head against her daughter to comfort her, at this affection Ezaru
break down
Martha Vermelho
Come on, let’s get you inside and warmed up, you can tell me what happened then.
Martha
sighs and gives a knowing smile, helping her daughter up and inside the house
out of the cold weather and into the warm house

Ezaru is laying
on a couch with a warm drink in hand, no longer crying, Martha lays down next
to her and folds a wing over her daughter providing her with a safe feeling,
Ezaru leans into the touch,

borrowed the knife Ace always has with him, to cut some fruit before Ace got
back, when I was done I put it back or…
… I thought I did, I forgot where I put it, Later Ace was looking for it
and… …when he found out I had borrowed
it he got mad, I tried.. I tried to help him find it but he just told me to go
away.

dear sweetie, it sounds like it was important to him, so it probably wasn’t the
best idea to take it. did you have a proper look around where you were using
it, did you try retracing your steps?

I
did I did. I always make sure to do that
when I’ve lost something, I looked everywhere and I couldn’t find it, I don’t
know where I could have left it, It can’t have been someone else because only
Ace and I go to our hideout.
Martha
chuckles causing her daughter to give her a questioning glare.

Sorry
sweetie, you defiantly take after your father, he as you know often forgets
where he put things and turns to me to find it, most often it being right under
his nose, he has always been like that ever since we met.
Ezaru sighs
and looks the other way, flicking one of her ears,

for a second, the cogs in her brain turning before she slammed her hands down and

back down after her outburst, the storm outside continued to rage on getting
worse the wind howling daring anyone to fly into its rage. Ezaru stood up.

Not at
the moment, its way to cold and the knife isn’t going anywhere I’m sure both
you and Ace need some time to think, even the closest of people need time to be
alone.
Ezaru
flopped down in defeat as much as she wanted to fix this as soon as she could,
her mother was right, they storm was getting worse and at this point not a good
idea to fly into.

searches through tuffs of clovers laying down, she hears a branch snap behind
her and whirls her head around to see another young dragon of the same species
as her.
Young Martha:

should be asking you that, I haven’t seen you around here before
Young Martha:
I’m
Martha, I just moved here with my family……
Young Nova
shoves his head into the hollow of a tree bordering the clover patches looking around
before pulling out a book while Martha looks on very confused
Young Nova:
Ah-hah!
I knew I left it here
Young Nova
looks towards Young Martha and trots over to her, glancing at the distance
where an adult dragon stood, he looked back to Martha taking her in.
Young Nova:
I’m
Nova, my dads waiting for me but let’s meet again yea?
Young Nova
Bounds off towards his father leaving Young Martha in the Clover Patch.
INT:

Martha:
According
to him, at the time, I was the first dragon his age that was the same kin as
him in that city.
Ezaru: VO
So
dad was basically just desperate and flirting
Martha lets
out a rumbling laugh
Martha:
Probably,
he was from a high class family and most of the other dragon he interacted with
were either Adults or other high class children that either stuck up or trying to be with him for status,
I at the time didn’t know and to him it was a breath of fresh air to have a
friend who didn’t judge him based on status.
Martha:

We
continued to meet up at the clover patches, sometimes leaving notes for each
other in the hollow of the tree

Unfortunately,
our time together in our home-world didn’t last, we didn’t know what was going
on at first, it was just a mas of panic dragons fleeing or hiding, though it
wasn’t long before we discovered why

The Hunters
Martha:
VO
Yes,
they attacked our dimension capturing and killing dragons,
Young
Martha and Nova are chatting laying down in the clover patch, sounds of dragon
screeching and destruction cause Martha and Nova to become alert and they look
at the direction of the city, only to be met with the sight of fleeing dragons
and a city in flames and Hunters. They were everywhere spreading out; Martha
and Nova are now on their feet giving each other fearful looks.
Young
Martha:
Nova, I got to get my family
Young
Nova:
I come with you, my Dad will be okay
Nova nods
and the two dragons jump into the air however a human shows up and throws a net
over Nova causing him to crash to the ground, Martha flies back before the
human can get to Nova and pulls off the net they narrowly escape the humans
grasp as it lunges at them.
The two
young dragons fly through the chaos Martha leading Nova to her home, Nova looks
towards the city worried.
Young
Martha:
Its here
Martha
dives down and lands in front of a ruined house, she runs in calling out for
her mother, the house is in shambles she walks in further triggering a trap
that snaps down on Martha sending out a signal, Nova enters hearing her
distress.
He rushes
up to her pulling at the trap trying to get it off her
Nova’s
Dad:
NOVA
The two
startle at the sudden booming voice as the adult dragon find them in Martha’s
raided house, he breaks the trap holding down Martha and looks her over. Nova
steps in front of his dad.
Young Nova:
Dad what are you doing here?
Nova’s
Dad:
Looking for you, we need to leave, Now
Nova’s Dad
ushers them out of the ruined house only to see approaching hunters
Nova’s
Dad:
Its too late to go back to the city, we must leave this dimension quickly
Young Martha:
What about my family I can’t leave them here
Nova’s Dad
turns his head toward Martha while keeping an eye on the approaching humans.
Nova’s
Dad:
They are most likely gone child, we have no time to worry about others we can
only hope they have managed to escape, now come,
They launch
into the sky and Nova’s Dad open up a breach to another dimension with the two
younger dragons flying below his wings, however before they are able to escape
into the breach they are cut off by a harpoon near missing Nova’s Dad, he looks
between the children who are now Infront of him.
Nova’s
Dad:
Keep
going, get through the breach,
Young
Nova:
But what about you
Nova’s
Dad:
Ill
be fine Nova, GO, look after each other
He swoops
back down towards the humans letting out a burst of flame. And swiping at them.
While the two young dragons flee as the Adult dragon is swarmed by humans, Nova
takes one last look before the breach closes.
The two
young dragons crash down into a forest in the new dimension, it is silent and
defining
INT:
Dragons-Ledge. NIGHT
Ezaru:
That’s why you went on an
adventure isn’t it, because you had nowhere to go.
Martha:
We had little choice in the
matter, the hunters had ravaged our home, we no longer had our haven, that why
it terrifies me that you confront the hunters with that human of yours, after
seeing what they can do first hand, it terrifies me… …but
“I am also very proud, not many
are brave enough to try and change things to confront the hunters and protect
your own kind is braver than I could ever be
Martha
nuzzles her daughter, both comforting the other as Ezaru leans in to her
mothers embrace.
Ezaru:
I couldn’t have done it without
Ace, he has always had my back when we pick fights with the hunters… … I don’t want to
loose him
Ezaru get
up and steps off the couch and looks back at her mother.
Ezaru:
Im gonna go find Ace
Ezaru
bounds to the door but skids to a halt before rushing to her mother to give her
a hug
Ezaru:
I love you mum
Martha:
I love you too sweetheart
Ezaru pulls
back and bounds outside taking off with a confident flap of her wings Martha
watches her leave at the entrance of their home.
Martha:
That’s my girl.
